Medicinal Cannabis Store Set to Open on the High Road

Soho-based Beleaf taking over the former Phase Eight premises

Specially trained Beleaf staff will explain the product to you

A specialist medicinal cannabis store is due to open soon on Chiswick High Road.

Beleaf is launching its second store in W4 in the former Phase Eight premises at number 288 following the opening of its Soho flagship branch in November 2019.

The shop’s main products will be cannabidiol oil (CBD) based. CBD is a natural remedy, extracted from the cannabis plant. It is claimed that it offers benefits for many common ailments. CBD use has increased in recent years, and Beleaf says that scientific studies suggest it may ease symptoms of ailments like chronic pain, anxiety, depression, poor skin quality, diabetes and heart conditions. Research from the Centre for Medicinal Cannabis estimates that the UK CBD market reached £300 million this year and could grow to £1 billion by 2025 - a value larger than the markets for Vitamin C and Vitamin D combined.

Beleaf says they will offers a broad range of ethically-sourced premium brand extracts, cosmetics, vapes and edibles with more than 100 product lines available for sale, including the only organically-grown product available in the UK.

The store will have a team trained specialist staff on hand to offer advice, support and share their experiences with anyone interested in, or already using, CBD products. It will also feature a ‘blends bar' with complimentary fresh juices on offer, and lounge where customers can sample various CBD-infused products.

“We know there’s a lot of confusion and misinformation in the CBD space, with very little product quality control, and so our mission from the start is to educate and build consumer confidence as a leading authority on CBD in Europe," said Marcus Fox, Managing Director. "We’re partnered with one of the largest cultivation businesses in the world, based in Canada, and as a result of our international reach we have encountered some exceptional brands across the globe that we are excited to offer our UK customers.”

Fox says that the decision to open a store in Chiswick was also very deliberate: “I live in the area, so I know first-hand that there is nowhere else locally where people can simply come and find out more about an exciting but new wellness product. We really want this to be a ‘local’ store; we’re a small, conscientious brand who’d like to be there whenever someone has a question, wants to bring a friend, or just wants to chat and try something new.”

The store, In a former Phase 8 unit, will initially be open for three months to test the viability of a longer term retail business on the High Road.
