Abundance Chiswick Now Has Thirty Trees

Invite local retailers to join in by hosting fruit tree outside premises

Abundance London has been working hard talking to people up and down the main shopping roads of Chiswick (the High Road, Devonshire Road and Turnham Green Terrace) about the Edible High Road. They are planning to create a river of fruit trees along these roads to celebrate the first Chelsea Fringe.

The group has just signed up its 30th tree and feels it has only just got started. Abundance would like to invite all retailers, restaurateurs and businesses to join in this fun community event by hosting a fruit tree outside their premises.

Everyone can participate, in addition to restaurants, grocers and food retailers, they have also signed up dry cleaners, estate agents, chiropractors and several clothes shops already.

Their original aim was 50 trees, which seemed hopelessly ambitious at the beginning, but now begins to seem not only feasible, but maybe even not enough says Karen Liebreich of Abundance.

The trees will be re-planted properly around the neighbourhood after the festival, and will go to school playgrounds, to swell the orchard up in Dukes Meadows or to other suitable locations around Chiswick.

Anyone who would be interested in hosting a tree, please contact info@abundancelondon.com for further information.

The project by Abundance Chiswick is a plan to create an Edible High Road for ‘Chelsea Fringe at Chiswick’.

The Chelsea Fringe is a brand new festival which will be held throughout London over three weeks from 18th May - 10th June at the same time as the Chelsea Flower Show. Chelsea Fringe will complement the renowned show and will be similar in spirit and adventurousness to the Edinburgh Fringe.
