Cllr Peter Thompson points out that the Church Urban Fund can give grants
Vice Chair of Chiswick Area Forum, Councillor Peter Thompson (Turnham Green) has today called on all faith based organisations throughout Chiswick, to apply to the Church Urban Fund for help with their social action projects.
The Church Urban Fund is offering grants up to £5,000 to support faith based groups and organisations for community based projects and/or activities aimed at raising awareness and tackling poverty. This could range from cookery classes, arts and craft to gardening and outdoor projects!
The Fund is open to all religions but cannot be used for general maintenance or running costs. It is a rolling programme and there are no deadlines!
Speaking on the announcement Councillor Thompson said,;“This week is interfaith week and is a chance for the community to come together and work as one. We live in uncertain times, however, this fund will go some way in encouraging the “Big Society” to “get stuck in” and come up with some amazing and creative ideas to benefit the community. As Chiswick Champion, I encourage every religious community to apply!”
