The popular comedy events at the Chiswick Playhouse are set to return over the next few months.
First up is Jenny Éclair, who has just turned 60 but points out that she is still a year younger than Madonna.
She is performing on a ‘work in progress’ basis with tickets just £10 on 18 July and 30 August. Buy tickets.
Lou Sanders is the champion of series eight of Taskmaster (DAVE) and other recent television appearances include The Late Late Show ND with James Corden (CBS), Live at the Apollo (BBC), QI (BBC2), Travel Man: 48 Hours in… (Channel 4), 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4). She will be appearing on 5 September along with Steve Bugeja who co-created and co-wrote the new ITV2 sitcom Buffering with Iain Stirling. He previously hosted the BBC Radio 4 series Economics with Subtitles and has made numerous appearances on TV shows and contributed material to Mock the Week and 8 Out of 10 Cats. On 15 and 16 August Simon Brodkin will be presenting a work-in-progress show. After his BBC series as Lee Nelson, multiple sell-out tours and various court appearances following world-famous stunts on Theresa May, Sepp Blatter, Donald Trump, Kanye West and Britain’s Got Talent, the award-winning comedian will be appearing for a change as himself. Iain Stirling is best known as the voice of the hit reality show Love Island (ITV2), which is now in its sixth series. He has also appeared in series 8 of Taskmaster (Dave), and took on the role of host for ITV2’s comedy entertainment show, CelebAbility (now in its fourth series). This adds to an extensive list of television credits including, The Russell Howard Hour, Comedians Watching Football with Friends (Sky One), The Jonathan Ross Show (ITV1), Saturday Kitchen (BBC One), The Comedy Bus, Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central, The Chris Ramsey Show, Drunk History and The Comedy Store (Comedy Central). On 19 September he will be appeared with Josh Weller, a comedian, comic book author, musician, and podcast host and Bella Hull, a London-based stand-up comedian and writer who is billed as one of the UK’s most exciting young comedians. The Chiswick Playhouse is also currently hosting the world premiere of From Here: A New British Musical is a New Musical from Ben Barrow and Lucy Ireland. With four performers… several characters, the show asks the question of whether we are driven by the notion of a fairy-tale ending to our lives or are we constantly looking for something new. The run has recently been extended until 7 August and tickets are available form £19.50 to £23.50.
