A charity theatre company has just relocated to W4 and is planning two performances before the end of the year.

Persever Productions has taken up residence in the Chiswick Catholic Centre on Dukes Avenue (W4 2AE). It aims to bring together actors at different stages of their careers to learn from each other in a true apprenticeship-style ensemble. The group provides mentoring and training to artists to enable them to produce public works of a higher standard.

Monthly events are held including workshops, play-readings and performances. Persever’s Script-In-Hand Performances bring together recent graduates, young actors and those who’ve been doing it for years. Readings so far have included Terence Rattigan’s Harlequinade, NF Simpson’s Was He Anyone, A Misdummer Night’s Dream and Alice in Wonderland.

The monthly events were started to raise the profile of the company to attract sponsorship, but also to give out of work actors a bit of a creative boost.

The group is planning a special Remembrance performance on Sunday 12 November with miscellany of readings, letter, poems and music commemorating and remembering those affected by wars around the world. This will include readings by Anna Kirke, Jennifer Wiltsie, Charlie Sheepshanks, David Whitworth, Paddy Lish and Sophie Wynn-Jones.

There will be a ‘Festive Frivolity’ on 21 December. Both will be held at the Catholic Centre at 7.30pm. One of the charity’s patron, Dame Vanessa Redgrave, has attended past events.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
