Casting Call For Chiswick Cats

Feline models needed by local design agency

Does your cat have the X-Factor? If so, the casting couch beckons, and maybe even the catwalk!

A local design agency is looking for beautiful feline models to turn into stars.

Kate Polyblank from Takkoda which sells greeting cards and giftware featuring cute pets, says the hunt is on for local kitties to be ‘ dressed up’ as characters.

They are particularly keen to find white or pale coloured cats to be turned into female celebrity characters. For the character of ' Marilyn', they are seeking a white or pale-faced pretty cat. Don’t worry, they don’t dress them up in real clothes and make them look silly- its all done on the computer.

Says Kate, who lives in Chiswick; “We photograph the animals in their own homes and then dress them up digitally. The photography takes around 30 mins. We do not pay model fees but we do give the models a selection of products that their pet features on, assuming the pets photographs are used.

Some examples of local cats masquerading as celebrities include Kate’s cat (The Pirate)and Super Kitty,(above) which belongs to Eileen at Chiswick Pets. Most of the models are the pets of friends, family and neighbours and they often use dogs as well as cats. Every element of the image excluding the animal is drawn in Photoshop.

And if you own a dog there's no need to feel left out. They are also looking for a dog to play a 'God Father' character. For this a "jowly sort of older dog, possibly a white boxer or similar" is required.
