There is a chance to win tickets to 'This Is....' and a meal for two at Cote

ArtsEd in Bath Road is planning to showcase the acting talents of its senior students in forthcoming new productions.

The first one is 'This Is' a new play by Roy Williams (Clubland, Sucker Punch), performed by their third year BA Acting students in its World Premiere.

'This Is' will run from 15 – 19 May.

"London, 1997-2017. Kelle is smart but she’s fighting the odds. Growing up in a family she doesn’t like and a world that doesn’t expect much of her, everything shifts when her brother is sent to prison. Kelle’s drive to clear his name takes her down a road that she didn’t expect to be on."

The play charts the ever changing connections in Kelle’s life as she navigates her way through the upheavals of Britain at the turn of the 21st century.

ArtsEd are offering a prize draw to win a meal for two at Côte Brasserie and two tickets to see the play. The closing date for entries is 8 May.

Later in May there will be a chance to see another play.

Tuesday 22 May – Saturday 26 May: Reactor, Brad Birch

Two brilliant young nuclear chemists arrive on a remote Scottish island to work on a revolutionary project. Ready to change the world for the good, their scientific world is full of possibilities and optimism.

‘Take anything that has ever appeared in the universe, anything at all, and break it down far enough and all you’re left with are the most ancient elements in existence. Your cats, your houses, your pints, your piss. It all comes down to these little specks of matter. And imagine taking those specks, and imagine being able to control them, warp them, change them, make anything out of everything. It’s the beginning, it’s the end, it’s creation. And I do that. Every. Single. Day.’

But the island is haunted by a hidden past and a terrifying future. Crane and Benson are about to learn how far they will go to belong and that there are consequences for messing with the fabric of the universe.
