Another Cafe For Chiswick High Road

Angie's Little Food Shop to open in former Prontaprint

South African Angie Steele is hoping to bring a cafe with a difference to Chiswick High Road.

Angie's Little Food Shop which will open in November, will not just be a cafe. she says, but provide a service which will cater for lunches, takeaway platters and even sell ceramics. She also hopes to open a cookery school in the basement.

Angie, who grew up in Capetown and worked as a professional chef before she married an Englishman and moved to London, says she chose Chiswick because of the great 'foodie' atmosphere. She is undaunted by the presence of so many other coffee shops and believes she has something new and unique to offer the area.

Angie has been running a lunch delivery service from Putney which has extended to Fulham, Hammersmith, Kensington, Knightsbridge, Mayfair and Soho. She has also worked with with London caterers The Recipe as their Executive Head Chef.

She says the Chiswick shop will be able to cater for anyone who wants to come in and choose a variety of salads and foods for a takeaway lunch, or have a coffee and cake, order a catered dish such as a lasagne for a dinner-party and even buy some of the hand-made ceramic plates and platters she imports from South Africa.

"I'm looking forward to opening in Chiswick once we finish the refurb, hopefully in November, " says Angie.

And husband Charlie will be opening a branch of his heli ski travel company, Pure Powder, at the rear of the premises, so he won't have far to travel for lunch.
