The contract to design and fit-out Aker Solutions' 1700-strong engineering hub in Chiswick Park, has been won by Peldon Rose Workplace Consultants.

Aker Solutions current office at Chiswick Park

The new contract is one of the largest to be given in the UK and at 220,000 square feet comprises the entire Building 6 at Chiswick Park. Peldon Rose provided 25,000 square feet of workspace for the Norwegian oil and gas Company on its re- entry into the UK market, last November.

Peldon Rose has already designed and built workplaces for Tullow Oil and Baker Hughes, which are based at Chiswick Park. In 2010, the Tullow Oil contract was one of the largest design and build projects in the UK.

The new offices for Aker Solutions will be able to house 1700 personnel, including specialist engineers, project managers, administrative staff and up to 200 customer representatives.

Jitesh Patel, Chief Executive Officer, Peldon Rose Workplace Consultants, said: "It is wonderful to be part of a project that will assist the UK as a whole and it is great to be back at Chiswick Park again."

Peldon Rose' clients include Google, Stella McCartney, Lloyds, World Gold Council and Save the Children International. It performs for both large and small companies. Established in 1986, it iis one of the Sunday Times Best Places to Work For and has gained five prestigious International Property Awards.

The Aker Solutions fit-out project is very fast track, with the occupation being phased over the next 18 months. Peldon Rose will be working alongside the building developer to fit-out floors as the building construction proceeds.

The Norwegian oil company Aker Solutions already has a base in Chiswick Park, but has decided to expand its local hub as a result of growth in global oil and gas markets which is driving demand for its technologies and services. It plans to create 1300 new jobs in its engineering hub at Chiswick Park.

The move, which was announced in Norway recently, was welcomed by the Prime Minister David Cameron who said it was a vote of confidence in the skill and expertise of the UK engineering sector.
