Addison Singers to Perform Haydn's The Creation
Choir to be joined by the Brandenburg Sinfonia for its autumn concert

The autumn concert by the Addison Singers Oratorio Choir will see a performance of Haydn’s The Creation, a whirlwind musical tour of The Creation narrative contained in the opening texts of The Bible.
The Choir welcomes back the Brandenburg Sinfonia to provide accompaniment and soloists in its presentation of the Carus Edition of the work which faithfully restores the original English translation of the text accompanied by the orchestral reduction by Joe Hickman.
It says, “We are in for an evening of musical treats; arresting orchestral overtures and interludes, solo arias which capture both the epic, and more humorous elements of the texts and resounding, uplifting choruses, which crown this masterpiece of the choral repertoire.”
The conductor will be the choir’s Music Director Matthew Thomas Morgan and the Deputy Music Director is Matthew Hough.
The concert takes place on Saturday 2 December at 7.30pm at St. Peter’s Church on Southfield Road (W4 1BB).
Tickets cost £18 or £3 for under 16s when purchased online in advance. On the door the prices are £20 and £5 respectively.

New members are always welcome to join the Addison Group of Singers, which is made up of three different singing classes and four different choirs for singers of all ages, abilities and musical interests. It was founded more than 30 years ago with David Wordsworth as its Musical Director since 1995. Matthew Thomas Morgan - newly appointed Music Director, Classical – took up his post at the beginning of 2023 to conduct the Chamber Choir and Oratorio Choir.
The Addison Singers comprises two classical choirs – an auditioned Chamber Choir and larger non-auditioned Oratorio Choir; and two jazz choirs – an auditioned Jazz Ensemble and a larger non-auditioned all-female Jazz Choir. It also offers three different singing classes to meet the needs of beginners, intermediate and the more competent, experienced singer.
