The William Hogarth School
The William Hogarth School is a primary school in the centre of Chiswick, close to Chiswick High Road. The school caters for pupils from ages 3 – 11. It is the lead school for Chiswick Children’s Centre, which is connected to it, which offers activities and services to young families. It has a growing pupil roll as it is expanding into a two form entry school.
The school has a spacious building with a large outside play space. As befits its name it has good connections with the local art world and receives support from local artists including Sir Peter Blake. A designated Art Room provides a great environment in which children can work creatively.
The school was inspected by Ofsted in September 2010. It was judged to be a good school. The Inspectors said the school “ensures each child receives the correct mixture of support and challenge, so enabling them to thrive both academically and personally” and remarked on the “caring, calm ethos” of the school. Inspectors were very complimentary about the pupils and school community, remarking that the children “get on famously with one another and their teachers and behave well, relishing their experiences in this inclusive school”.
They judged pupils’ achievement to be good and the quality of teaching in the school to be good.
