Francis Holland School

Smallish central London school with an arts bias.  It takes under 400 girls from 4 to 18.  Academically it is quite respectable with 7% going to Oxbridge and a national ranking of 67.  It has a sister school in Regents Park.  It is right next to Sloane Square tube so handy from Chiswick and great for shopping.  Fees are £2,535 per term - 1999.

How do you get in?

Their main intake is at 4 and 11.  You take the London schools' consortium entrance exam.  It might not surprise you to hear that the intake from state schools is low.
