St Faith’s Players, Brentford’s long-running community theatre group, will return to the stage this December with their annual pantomime, Dick Whittington and His Cat. Rehearsals have already begun for the production which runs from Thursday 4 to Saturday 6 December at Isleworth and Syon School, with evening performances at 7:30pm and a 2:30pm matinee on the Saturday. The cast and crew are drawn from across the borough.
The pantomime follows the familiar tale of young Dick Whittington, who travels to London in search of fortune, accompanied by his loyal cat Tom. Along the way, he encounters villainous rats, stormy seas, and the possibility of love, in a story that blends traditional panto humour with family-friendly adventure.
Founded in the 1960s, St Faith’s Players began as a church-affiliated drama group and has since evolved into a fixture of Brentford’s cultural calendar. The group is known for its inclusive ethos, welcoming performers and backstage volunteers of all ages and experience levels. Past productions have included Aladdin, Cinderella, and Jack and the Beanstalk, with the annual pantomime often serving as a highlight of the local festive season.
Performances will take place at Isleworth and Syon School, which offers free parking and a licensed bar. Tickets are priced at £15, including booking fee, with wheelchair access available.
