Oghenegaren (Garen) Esiovwa-Thompson is just 12-year-old but he is already making a name for himself in the world of fencing.
On the 10 June he took part in the Wratislavia Challenge 2022 in Wroclaw Poland. This is the largest international tournament for U13 Boys and he was competing against 126 fencers from all over the world. He won the tournament and received a gold medal.
This was the latest in a string of success for Garen since he took up the sport at the age of 6. He has either medaled or won gold in nearly every tournament he has taken part in including U13 competitions he competed in when he was just nine.
