Set to be biggest ever
This year's Fete at St Vincent's is taking place on:
Saturday 30 June 2007, 12 – 4pm
The St Vincent’s School Fete on 30 June is set to be the biggest in the school’s history. With new features such as Go-Karts, Sumo-Wrestling and a dedicated Pimms stall as well as old favourites such as the Hoopla plus Bottle and Craft Stalls, in addition to food and music from around the world, the organisers are hoping for a record number of visitors from school families as well as the local community.
Taking place in both infant and junior playgrounds and in the school hall at the school on Pierrepoint Road in Acton, the fete will also include a raffle with high profile prizes including a Gas BBQ donated by Homebase, vouchers donated by HSS, meals donated by The Chatsworth and the North China restaurants, Acton Vue cinema tickets and a family pass for a day at The Park Club!
Go-Karts (peddle not motor!) will take up a significant area of the infant playground, which organisers believe will be a great attraction for the children. Beat the Goalie, Sumo-Wrestling, Face Painting and Hoopla will also feature alongside Craft, Book, Toy, Plant, Cake and Bottle stalls. The under 5’s will have their own Soft Play Area as well as Hook a Duck and a Lucky Dip to entertain and amuse. Representatives from each year (and their parents!) are also co-ordinating different activities at the fete and these will include a strawberries and cream stall and the Treasure Hunt.
There will also be a culinary something for everyone at the fete with a BBQ as well as Philippino, Sri Lankan, Eritrean, Nigerian and Caribbean foods. Music will be performed by pupils as well as local bands and there will be Polish dancing in addition to Sophie Green’s Street Dance group. Organisers would welcome the opportunity to offer Polish foods too!
The school’s PFA have produced a brochure, supported by local businesses, to promote the fete. This, as well as raffle tickets will soon be available for sale at school and outside the parish churches as well as on the gate on the day of the fete (30 June).
