A series of coordinated drug sweeps were carried out across East Acton and South Acton this Monday (13 October), as part of a joint operation between the Acton Safer Neighbourhood Team and Ealing Council.
The initiative targeted residential blocks and public spaces identified as areas of concern for drug-related activity and anti-social behaviour.
The operation included the removal of suspected drugs and prohibited items, alongside high-visibility patrols in locations such as Heathfield Nature Gardens. A police helicopter was observed hovering above the A40 near Savoy Circus during the raids, drawing attention from local residents.
Authorities described the action as part of a wider strategy to improve public safety and reduce criminal activity through collaborative enforcement. The partnership between local policing teams and council services aims to address community concerns
.
Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity or concerns about drug use via the non-emergency police line 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
The local Safer Neighbourhoods Team says further operations may be planned as part of ongoing efforts to tackle drug-related issues in the borough.
