Patience of Local Residents Stretched by Limos

Hire company ordered to leave Eastman Road

Bosses at a limousine hire company which stretched the patience of local residents face a £20,000 fine if they continue to operate illegally.

A1 Exotic Limos has been ordered to leave Eastman Road, Acton, where it has been operating for two years without planning permission.

Ealing Council planning enforcement officers issued an enforcement notice in December 2007, but the company got a stay of execution after appealing.

On 23 September the planning inspector ruled in the Council’s favour and the company now has seven months to stop using the site. If they fail to comply it is a criminal offence and managers could face a whopping £20,000 fine.

Councillor David Millican, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, said: “Companies can’t be allowed to get away with flouting planning laws. The site is totally unsuitable for this kind of business and the company has been making its neighbours’ lives hell, with cars coming and going at all hours of the night. I’m pleased the Planning Inspectorate upheld our decision that the company must leave.”
