Comments received by the local care home included this one, “Torkington House is a wonderful place. My mum has been a resident for a few weeks and she is happy and settled. She participates in daily stimulating activities and enjoys them. She is so well cared for, there is always one of the amazing carers by her side and her comfort and happiness always comes first. We, as a family, know that she is safe at all times.”

Torkington House holds regular visits with local schools, churches, day centres and more. It has 28 en-suite bedrooms, lounge areas and extensive gardens.

The home is part of Greensleeves Care, which was also named among the Top 20 Large Care Home Group in the awards for the seventh year running. The organisation’s not-for-profit status means that the group’s ‘Home for Life Commitment’ reassures residents that they will never be asked to leave if their funds run out while in care.

Margaret Siriwardena, Home Manager at Torkington House, said, “We are thrilled to be named among the Top 20 care homes in London. Not only for the recognition itself, but for the fact that the award is the direct result of feedback from our residents, their families and friends. We are so proud to be a part of the community here in Acton, and we are pleased to accept this award as a testament to the high quality of care we strive to deliver every day.”
