Residents make views known on site visit

Objectors to the proposed Oaks redevelopment scheme turned out in huge numbers to show their opposition to the Councillors who will decide its fate.

Those who showed up to the site visit on Saturday morning (12th October) are against the proposals which they say will created a 'blocked out' community.

Local residents, including celebrities Anna Chancellor and Emilia Fox, object to the gated scheme which they believe will cut off the High Street from Churchfield Road.

Critics say it will cause too much traffic congestion and the proposed tower block will cast the area into darkness.

The application will go before Ealing Counci's planning committee on Wednesday 16th October.

A council spokesperson said the final decision will be made by the Mayor of London because of the size of the proposed development.
